Teaching

Design is a way of thinking before it's a way of making. My research and teaching practice explores how people interact with systems, from physical interfaces to community-centered technology, and feeds directly back into how I design.

Mediated Interactions

Usability, interaction paradigms, research methods

A course at the Faculty of Architecture and Design at Universidad de los Andes. Students learn the principles of usability, types of interaction, and research methods including storyboarding, decision trees, and video as tools for understanding how people interact with systems. The course culminates in an interactive experience that bridges digital and physical interfaces.

Microbial Fuel Cells

Participatory design, visual language, rural context

Published research focused on translating a highly technical laboratory technology into an accessible, community-centered product for rural Colombia. The work involved stripping away the visual language of the lab and rebuilding it with simpler materials and a new design language that felt close to the people who would actually use it. Taking something complex and making it legible is the same problem I solve as a UI designer, just in a different medium.
